Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

My kids smiles and laughs, and creating a space where they can be happy and safe as they grow, learn, and explore. A big part of this is overcoming my own mental health challenges, such as postpartum depression & anxiety. I am working hard to become a better version of myself for them, to hopefully give them the childhood they deserve.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

That every mom is a super mom! And it’s okay to ask for help ❤️ Having & raising kids is one of the most selfless things a woman can do in her life. And it’s hard to admit you’re struggling. But our kids deserve whole, happy women as their moms. I’ve had PPD & PPA after both kids, and I’m passionate about being “the village” for the other young moms around me. You never know what someone is going through, but if she’s a mom, then she needs all the support you can offer.

What would you do with $20,000?

2.5k to charity, 1.5k each to my children’s savings accounts, and then use the rest to help us finally have a downpayment for a home my husband and I could raise our kids in, with a large garden to grow our own food and run a local produce booth. We have been poor college kids our whole marriage, and have worked hard to provide for our family, but haven’t been able to save much money through the process of getting higher education. To finally have a home & garden would be a dream come true.
