I think one of the most rewarding parts of motherhood is knowing I’m their home base. I mean that during the most challenging moments, the fits and tantrums, the tears as well as the highest joys and biggest hugs have been at home, a safe space their dad and I created together. Knowing we have built a home where they are comfortable expressing themselves and stretching boundaries gives me a happiness that’s hard to explain.

Try to enjoy even the smallest moments. The hours in a day are limited, which seems like such a simple realization, but throughout my years of motherhood, it’s easy to look back and realize how many moments were missed, or not appreciated to the fullest, because I was rushing through my day.

This is tough! I think I would start by paying off a large chunk of what student loans I have left and then another chuck to purchase a new (used) car for our son who is getting ready to go away to college in the Fall (he needs to be able to travel home safely to visit me, right?!). These are two areas I would feel truly blessed to have relieved!
