The most rewarding part?…the unexpected. The unexpected love for biological children and foster children. Love gives back 100 fold, and the knowledge that the love is making a difference…unending rewards. Empowering children whose power has been taken away…that’s our mission. Empowering children that haven’t known unconditional love their entire lives. And they work to learn how to accept it everyday. Grant grace to all.

Motherhood doesn’t always come naturally. Hear me out. When you parent biological children, you know their paths and the likely who, what’s and whys. Fostering is different. You’re making a difference (I pray) in the life of a child with scars you weren’t there for the formation of and for pain you can’t fathom for a child…for anyone. Is it natural? Easy? No. Not at first. But…love morphs. It changes with the need. Adjusts. Perseveres. Love empowers children…and us as adults. Love never fails.

First we’d fix things like the new tires we need on the car, pay off medical debt and continue to fight my fight, and then…have a savings account!!! The county works tirelessly for children in the foster system…I want to adopt a foster family for holidays. I believe in paying it forward. This would be an honor.
