Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is when the girls look for me in the crowd in celebration or in need of reassurance. Whether they're in the water, on the field, on the stage, or just day to day activities; I love being their cheerleader. I love that they know they can turn to me for anything; hugs for PRs, a shoulder to rest on when an early call time is followed by a long day, the "I love you" sign for comfort. I love that no matter what they are going through, they know to go to me.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The lesson I've learned is the need to have patience, grace, laughter, & unconditional love. School, practices, rides, schedule changes, CHLA stays, Walmart runs; so much piles up. Things come at me that I don't expect but I have to accept. Exercising patience while giving myself and others grace and laughing to alleviate stress, help me realize I am simply the manager of organized chaos. Most importantly, the unconditional love I have for my girls keeps me going; no matter what life brings.

What would you do with $20,000?

With our oldest going away to college out of state, $20,000 would be such a blessing. We could use it to help with housing, books, and supply costs. Our daughters are extremely active in swim, soccer, show choir, and soon to be flag football; this money could help with fees and equipment. And CHLA has a big piece of our hearts. I would love to be able to make a donation to stock toys, books, and art supplies for their occupational therapy needs.
