Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching my kids have dreams beyond anything I've ever dreamed, and getting to support them at every stage of growth. Their uniqueness allows for different types of connection and experience. They've proven to me that we don't need to shrink ourselves to show up for anyone. With the way life has evolved, the reward comes from continuing to grow individually and together. Take on new challenges and experience new places for the first time. Teamwork and showing up for the human in front of you.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

There's always choice & our emotions have massive value. It's challenged me to observe without interjecting, get really curious, and to meet the kids where they are. That goes both ways! I've learned how to be kinder to myself and more vulnerable with those around me without seeing things as "needing to be fixed". All aspects of what makes us tick need attention; including rest and boundaries! There is no one size fits all plan, and I get to show them how I'm still building my own path.

What would you do with $20,000?

Even though travel is already covered in the prize, we'd absolutely do more of it! I'd love to pack our family up and spend a month abroad experiencing different cultures. Passion funds for the kids; like a cinematography summer program for my high school daughter who wants to become a director and make movies. Support friends starting a dog rescue (our german shepherds would approve!) For me, more painting supplies, more flower bulbs, and a week in a house by myself to finish writing my book!
