Seeing my boys succeed and realizing that I didn’t do everything wrong. My oldest of five boys joined the military at 17, and served till last month. Us as mothers are so hard on each other and ourselves. Not everything is under our control and there are so many things that surround the circumstances of their childhood. Some things we don’t have control over and that’s something that we need to give ourselves grace for. No mother is perfect. I take the small wins when I can.

You can always be more exhausted, more sleep deprived, more frustrated, more letdown, and have a messier house. BUT, you can also be more loved, more proud, more built up, and more driven to be a better mom. Their successes make me want to be better.

I would move me and my three youngest boys from Utah where we currently live, to Georgia where my big sister lives. I have always wanted a home for my boys, even if it’s just one that we rent. They’ve never had a real yard to go out and play in. I can afford these things in Georgia. A slower less chaotic way of living could heal our souls.
