Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching my daughter develop and grow into the most sassy, generous, intelligent, and goofy little girl. Getting the opportunity to just hangout with her, teach her what I can, and get to grow up with her is the most rewarding part. She is the reason I haven’t given up. She is the reason I continue to persevere through all hardships, finish my college degree, and be the best version of myself daily, knowing that she’s watching my every move. She makes me less alone. She is my world.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

That I am strong and that nothing can get in the way of my ambitions to build a successful life for me and my daughter.. and one day an even bigger family. It has also taught me that it’s okay to cry, it’s okay to make mistakes, and it’s okay to feel like you’re not okay. What matters is what you use those emotions and pain to accomplish. I use it as more motivation to always fight. I didn’t ask to be walked out on. So I will work every day to teach her that you can do anything if you believe.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would put half of the money into her savings for college, knowing that I work 3 jobs just to pay our bills. I would also use the other half to help pay off any debts from school, so that I can breathe easier when I have to start paying it back. I already stress enough paying for daycare, babysitters, rent, car bills, etc. so it would really help get me ahead and continue providing for my daughter.. things I never thought I could do alone but I have.
