Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom has been getting to watch my kids experience life for the first time and, in a way, getting to experience it all over again with them. But my favorite part is catching those quiet, unprompted moments that reveal who they are becoming. When they choose to share without being asked, apologize on their own, or just choosing to say something kind. Not just their personality, but their character taking shape right in front of me. It's a gift.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is that slowing down is a choice. The rushing, the constant busyness, the feeling that we always have to be doing something productive feels like a habit shaped by the world around me. When my boys asks, “Mommy, will you play with me?” I have a choice. Not always, because sometimes things really do need to get done, but often I can choose to pause and soak in those moment instead of letting the "to do's" steal them from me.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I had $20,000, I’d use it intentionally. $5,000 to pay off annoying debt, $7,000 to save or invest, and $8,000 toward my family and future. I’d invest in growing my birth work as a doula and educator, and ideally put some toward a travel trailer for continued family experiences. My goal is to be present with my husband and our boys, support women, and build a life of freedom and purpose.
