Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I love seeing my children grow and learn. It is such a privilege to see the wheels turning when they start to understand the world. I especially love seeing the sparkle in their eyes during holidays and new experiences. My most cherished experiences as a mom are knowing that these humans trust me, feel safe with me, and know that they can always count on their mama for unconditional love.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

These kids are always listening and watching. I've learned to always be present and mindful of how I speak and treat myself in hopes that I can lead by example and instill a sense of confidence, appreciation, empathy, and strength in my children. I want my children to know that they can achieve their goals by working hard and that they are still lovable and worthy in their most difficult experiences and set backs.

What would you do with $20,000?

I was recently accepted into a Ph.D. program and would love to use the cash to help pay for tuition without having to take on more debt or take from the family funding. I am so excited to show my kids that they can achieve anything they set their minds to with hard work, diligence, and support. If I won this money, it would be a huge financial relief on the family, and I'd also hope to take them to Disneyland!
