My two boys, Mason (13) and Max (7), being happy, healthy and thriving is the most rewarding part of being a mom. Hearing I love you, the random hug and even a thank you gives me the push to get through the day. Living with autoimmune diseases and chronic pain is not only difficult physically but can take a toll on my mental health. Having my family support me and love unconditionally helps me get up quicker in the morning, and focus on the positive aspects of the day.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned in motherhood is patience and to slow down. I am a go, go, go person because sometimes slowing down makes me focus on the pain I may be feeling. Having children has made me slow down and focus on the moment. Whether it’s to cuddle and watch a movie or to watch their eyes light up at fireworks. I’ve learned to relish in every second and not want the moments to end. I have to remind myself to take photos because I’ve learned to be in the moment and enjoy the time.

With $20,000 I would want to update their bedrooms, and put money away for their future. I would want to know that no matter what may happen, they have something to start their future.
