I’m a super mom: raised my kids solo with love and strength, and now as a new wife, I continue to nurture and support my family
We would like to thank you for supporting Joyce Mitchell in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is knowing I trusted my heart when it mattered most. When I got pregnant, my partner wanted me to end it, but I felt my child was a gift. I chose to continue, and now my son is my everyday blessing, a beautiful soul who fills my life with love, purpose, and joy. Every smile, every moment reminds me I made the right choice.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is that every day is a lesson. No matter how much you try to protect your children, they will still get hurt, that’s part of life. What matters most is not shielding them from everything, but being there to support them, guide them, and help them grow. It’s about leading by example and showing them strength, love, and resilience every single day.
What would you do with $20,000?If I had $20,000, I would have a church wedding with my children present. Our court wedding had only one witness, my mother-in-law—no ring, no reception. My two children couldn’t come from the Philippines, and my three stepchildren were busy working. I’ve always prayed for a day where all my loved ones can witness our joy, love, and commitment before God. This time, I want to share that special moment with everyone I love.
