Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

One of the most rewarding parts of being a mom is seeing the little things actually stick. I’m always telling my son that it’s okay to have big feelings—and when things feel overwhelming, we can take a beat and breath. A few weeks ago I was having a moment, and my four-year-old looked at me and said, “Mommy, take a deep breath.” It caught me off guard in the best way. It’s one of those moments where you realize they’re listening. Watching them grow into thoughtful little humans is the greatest!!

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood brought me back to a version of myself I had lost. I’m a better mom when I’m not running on empty. Taking care of myself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Making time for myself and friendships helps me show up better every day. Choosing my son AND myself aren’t competing priorities—they go hand in hand. After 4+ years of infertility and becoming an IVF warrior, I don’t take this journey or my son for granted.

What would you do with $20,000?

My son is obsessed with the beach, so a family beach vacation would be a dream. I would donate to our local library, which offers amazing kids’ programs and has been a true saving grace for moms in our community. I would also help one of my best friends, who is in need of support with fertility costs as she tries to get pregnant with her second child.
