What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Knowing that I am doing my best to raise good humans. It always seems that when a day is hard someone crosses my path and tells me a kind story about one of my kids or how polite my kids were. I saw my younger son hold doors open for an elderly couple without be asked too and a mom in my older sons class told me my son walks her daughter to reading lab every day bc she’s nervous to go. These are little moments that are rewarding knowing that my kids are out there being kind and good people.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

That it’s ok not to be perfect. It’s ok to make a mistake. Not every choice and decision will be the right one, but that’s ok bc we do the best that we can. My kids will make mistakes and not always make the right choice but my job is to teach them and make sure they learn from it. And if they make a mistake I am not a bad mom. Mom guilt is real and it’s hard and it can swallow you and the biggest lesson is to not let it bc no one is perfect. Perfection is a myth.

What would you do with $20,000?

Start our long awaited backyard renovation. We have a big yard and my kids and all the neighborhood kids play in it all the time but the fence is falling down and there is a old wood shed in the way - I would replace the fence, remove the shed and turf the yard bc family kickball night would be so much better on a turf diamond! Our pool Deck is rotted and needs to be replaced - simple stairs would make even more space for the kids . We live on a sandlot block and we love having all kids over
