A baby at 44, four kids total- and I chose to do motherhood differently: present, intentional, and deeply connected.
We would like to thank you for supporting Jamie Gambardello in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is who I’m becoming because of them. In the middle of the chaos, I’ve learned to slow down, to choose connection over control, and to see the small moments as the big ones. Hearing “Mom” called from another room, being the place they come back to - it’s a kind of purpose nothing else compares to. It’s not always easy, but it’s deeply meaningful, and I wouldn’t trade it.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is that control isn’t the goal - connection is. I used to think being a good mom meant doing everything right, but I’ve learned it’s about showing up with patience, humility, and love. My kids don’t need perfection; they need presence. When I slowed down and started responding instead of reacting, everything in our home began to change.
What would you do with $20,000?I’d use it first to create meaningful experiences with my family-because time together is what matters most. Then I’d invest in growing the platform I’m already building to support overwhelmed moms—creating tools, content, and a community that helps them move out of survival mode and into intentional motherhood. It would deepen impact at home and expand the reach to moms who truly need it.
