Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my boys live the life they once had to fight for. They were born at just 27 weeks 2 days and spent months in the hospital, and there were moments I didn’t know what the future would hold. Today, I get to watch them run, laugh, play football and baseball, and dream big about their futures. Seeing them overcome challenges and both of them grow into kind, strong, and joyful boys reminds me every day that every struggle was worth it.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me what true strength really is. It’s not just pushing through; it’s loving deeply even when you’re exhausted, showing up even when you feel like you have nothing left, and never giving up no matter how hard life gets. My sons taught me that strength the moment they were born fighting for their lives. Through years in the Army, long hours, and missed moments, I’ve learned that love, resilience, and sacrifice go hand in hand and I would choose it all again for them.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use the $20,000 to finally give my boys something they deserve: more of me. I would pay off my car and reduce debt so I can leave my third job and be present for the moments I’ve had to miss. I would invest in their future, helping with education and supporting their dreams of playing sports. After everything they’ve been through, and everything we’ve sacrificed, I just want time with them.
