Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching a human being grow because of you. You get to see your child develop their own personality, values, and way of seeing the world—and know you helped shape that. It’s in the little things: how they treat others, what makes them laugh, how they come to you for comfort. Those moments remind you that what you’re doing matters. There’s also a kind of love that’s unmatched. It doesn’t depend on anything, and it doesn’t go away on hard days.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

You can’t do everything alone. It forces you to grow in ways nothing else does. You learn patience when you’re overwhelmed, resilience when things don’t go as planned, and how to keep going even when you’re exhausted. You become more selfless, but at the same time, you start to understand the importance of your own limits. Motherhood also teaches you that control is an illusion. You can guide, love, and protect, but your children are their own people. Learning to let go—little by little.

What would you do with $20,000?

I am trying to grow my salon that I currently run (solo stylist with just 5 short months ago of launching a hair extension company) out of a 200 square foot suite. I would love to be able to get a bigger salon that I can run both businesses out of and hire more stylists to be successful so that I can be home with my children way more since I am their primary parent during the week.
