What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching all three of my kids grow into their own personalities and form that bond with each other. When they call my name “mom” makes me feel warm knowing they still need me. Showing up to a concert and spot me in the crowd with the biggest smile on their face makes my heart warm. Also, the quiet moment when we just watch movies together and also snuggle in bed still as teenagers most rewarding! I don’t know where I would be now in life without them to push myself to give them a better life.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

My biggest lesson is that I can’t control everything. Wanting my kids to have a perfect life and hiding them from my abusive life with their dad. When they are angry and sad I can’t always fix it I have to let them deal with the pain. Instead of trying to make everything perfect I focused more on honesty, showing up, and loving them. I will always be there for them when they need me. I love them so much, it’s overwhelming sometimes but, I wouldn’t change it for nothing in this world!

What would you do with $20,000?

First, I would finally move and give my son his own room. He is 16 and has shared a room with his sisters his whole life. Second, I would pay off my debt I have. Third, I would fix my vehicle. And last but not least I would open an account for my kids so I know when my son graduates in two years I can at least give him something to go to college or help with all my kids. That’s my most biggest embarrassment for them I don’t have it all the time when they need it the most.
