Being able to see every single phase of my children. I don’t ever have to worry about “missing” anything - first steps, taking to/picking up from school, being able to go eat lunch with my boys at school, help with field trips, etc. I am their safe space, their comfort, and sometimes the “punching bag” for all those big feelings , and that’s okay, because I embrace every single part of my children’s ups and downs. It helps me grow, as a person, as well.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is to embrace every. single. day. The sad days, the happy days, the tough days…with three children, you almost forget fleeting moments that I once had with my oldest, that I can experience all over again with my younger two. That has taught me, through many tears, that every single stage of their childhood needs to be held close to my heart and embraced, because it doesn’t last forever and you ALWAYS want to go back to “feel those moments” again.
What would you do with $20,000?It is no secret that the teaching profession doesn’t pay the best - especially here in South Dakota. So even when I was teaching, what I made didn’t help contribute that much. But now with staying home, I have zero financial support going towards our family. Winning $20,000 would definitely go towards a “making memories fund”. Not “stuff”. It would help us have wiggle room to actually be able to travel to see family and experience life with our children, while making memories to last a lifetime.
