I’m a working mom of four kids, six-years-old and under—juggling deadlines, diapers, and dinner. Tired, grateful, and all in for my crew.
We would like to thank you for supporting Emily Lyon in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
Being a mom is most rewarding in the small, everyday moments—seeing them smile, learn, and grow. Each one of my kids amaze me in their own unique ways—whether it's their unexpected thoughtfulness, surprising me when they say a really big word I didn't think they knew, or their tenacity to learn and develop new skills. Greeting their smiling faces when they wake up in the morning or when we pick them up from school, make it all worth the messes, stress, or tired days.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is to focus on what truly matters—health and happiness. It’s shifted my perspective, reminding me that the little moments, our well-being, and time together outweigh perfection or pressure. Being present, grateful, and grounded in what’s real has become more important than anything else.
What would you do with $20,000?There are so many ways $20K could support our family—from jumpstarting college savings to upgrading to a minivan so all six of us can travel comfortably, or creating a more functional bathroom for the kids. Ideally, we’d invest in a little of each—helping our family thrive both now and in the years ahead.
