Elizabeth Odiorne

I am a single mom of amazing twin boys. Just got back to full time teaching after 9 years due to them being born premature.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is when the days might be tough and even a bit crazy but at the end of the day my boys give me a hug or snuggle with me. It is not always easy, but just knowing that I am their safe space and the one they give all their emotions to makes it worth it. Working full time as a special education teacher is challenging and rewarding but it is also navigating a lot of emotions with students. Coming home and being with my twin boys is everything!

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

I will keep it very simple. Motherhood has taught me I can do very hard things! I teach my kids this every day and I hope to live and practice what I preach to them. I never knew I could do so many things and balance my life.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would honestly just like the security of it. I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment with my kids and I could possibly put this towards a savings account for a down payment on a house. Or I would love to be able to go on a vacation with them. They are 10 and we have never been on a big vacation before. Maybe a Disney trip or cruise. $20000 is a ton of money so it’s fun to even imagine the possibilities.
