Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The joy of seeing the excitement and pure innocence of them. They get so excited for activities, learning, and things we do. I love seeing when something clicks and you can see their brain understand. Another biggest reward is watching my daughter conquer diabetes. She’s so young yet understands, is aware, mature beyond her years, and is so brave. I am so proud of the little woman she is: it is so rewarding seeing them learn and explore and find their true identities.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

I don’t know how I can narrow it down. It has taught me to be selfless, they rely and need me. Sleepless nights don’t matter anymore, they are a regular thing. It has taught me patience, there are days it’s easier said than done, but the innocence and lack of experience or ability to express emotions is all so new. They have improved my multi tasking, my attention to detail, my organization. Maneuvering their lives and mine has made me a better person.

What would you do with $20,000?

I have a ton of medical debt from my daughter’s traumatic diabetes diagnosis, life flight, icu stay. All very unexpected but quite a burden, the monthly recurring medical bills as well. There are some other bills that due to everything going on are higher than I would like, but I would also love to do a Disney cruise they’ve seen a video and it’s a dream of theirs. She loves the princesses and they are at the age this would be a dream to see the joy and excitement.
