Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Seeing my kids be happy and feel comfortable being their true selves despite the trauma in their lives. All my boys are so loving and genuine in their own authentic way, with me and with each other. I love seeing them grow and become amazing young men. They have so many characteristics of their father and his spirit of making the most out of things. I am so proud of them and so proud to be their mama.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

That you are still learning through all of the ups and downs. To give yourself grace and to be real with your children. It’s ok to let them see you cry or breakdown or even yell here and there. It shows them normalcy and as long as you can sit down and talk to them and answer their questions or concerns that is the part that really matters. Teaching them that mom has struggles too but I can bounce back and make the best of things as best as I can

What would you do with $20,000?

I would put a down payment on a home that fits our needs if I had the choice. We recently had to move and downsize our home and it’s been hard. Myself and my family try to give and do for my kids as much as possible and to sell and donate so many of our items has been hard. Taking things away from them that was once an everyday thing because we simply cannot fit it anymore is disheartening. And then it falls on me. I would love to buy a home and have the space for us all to feel comfortable.
