What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my two girls ages 10 and 8 grow into who God made them to be. My oldest daughter’s autism has taught me patience, perspective, and a deeper kind of love—one that celebrates every small victory. Balancing classroom and home isn’t easy, but hearing “Mommy” after a long day makes it all worth it.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me that love isn’t measured in perfection, but in presence. It’s in the patience I have grown through Kinley Kate’s autism journey, the grace I try to give on hard days, and the strength it takes to balance little hearts at home and in my classroom. I have learned that the smallest moments—snuggles, giggles, whispered prayers—are the ones that matter most.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’d plant it with purpose—pay down on the house we are about to build, create a savings cushion that lets me breathe, and set aside something special for my girls’ future. A large portion would bloom into classroom magic for my students, and maybe just a sprinkle for a family memory we’d never forget.
