I became a single mom at 17—still a child myself, trying to figure out life while raising one. I’m now 33 and made it! Single moms ROCK
We would like to thank you for supporting Courtney Robeck in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching your child grow into who they’re meant to be—and knowing you helped shape that. It’s in the little moments: when they come to you for comfort, when they trust you with their feelings, when they repeat something kind you taught them. It’s realizing that even on your hardest days, you’re their safe place. And one day, it hits you—everything you sacrificed, every tear, every struggle… it turned into a strong, loving human being. That’s the reward
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Motherhood taught me strength I never knew I had. I learned how to keep going on my hardest days, to put someone else before myself, and to love unconditionally. Becoming a mom at 17 forced me to grow up fast, but it also showed me resilience, patience, and what truly matters in life. No matter the struggles, I’ve learned that love always outweighs the hard moments.
What would you do with $20,000?I would use $20,000 to give my children stability and a fresh start. I’d pay off debt that’s been weighing on us, catch up on bills, and build a small savings so we’re not living paycheck to paycheck. I’d also invest in creating a better future—whether that’s reliable transportation, a safer home, or growing my small business. Most importantly, I’d create peace of mind for my family.
