What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching my kids accomplish their dreams - the big ones and the little ones. When they were small it was watching them learn their letters or score their first goal. Then it was being there when they walked across the stage at graduation and were accepted to their college. Eventually it becomes watching them accept a job in the career they chose and start to change the world. Every single goal they achieve makes me proud of who they are and grateful that I am able to see all their achievements.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Humility and that I always have more to learn. When my children were younger I was the teacher and the guide. They looked to me to explain the world. I arrogantly believed it would always be that way. As time passed, and they have grown, the world has changed and there are things in this world that I - raised in my generation - don’t completely understand. Just as times have changed, our relationship has changed where we support and guide each other and I need to accept that with humility.

What would you do with $20,000?

Take time with my family. They are moving on and becoming who they should become. I am so proud but that means I don’t get to see them as much as I used to or want to. I would use the money to take one last, big family vacation to thank them for being such amazing kids.
