Watching the growth of my son and seeing how he has developed over the years is the most rewarding feeling. Knowing that the choices and sacrifices I made as a single mom molded him into the most kind and compassionate human. I love to see how he navigates his friendships and how much he cares for others. It fills my heart with abundant pride.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?That is has been and continues to be my job to be a role model for my son. I think that from the moment he was born I was thinking about ways to guide him to his purpose. I think when you are a parent you have to stay completely in tune with your child’s emotions and feelings. I think it’s so important to explain things in an age appropriate manner where you can convey open dialogue. As they grow, they need to have you present especially in the teen years. They need to feel safe.
What would you do with $20,000?I would use it to continue to Pay it Forward to others through the non profit I created when my son’s father committed suicide. I wanted my son to grow up focusing on giving back to others. I did not want him to always think about why he didn’t have his dad here on earth. I wanted to him to learn the importance of giving to those less fortunate.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Super Mom, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
