Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Most rewarding part is being able to be a mom. Watching them grow through all the seasons of life. Knowing that the nights are long but the years are short has been very eye opening. How your love for each child is the same and yet individually different. Being able to teach your child and watch them turn into amazing humans. Going through seasons of hard, joy, grief, loss and growing up together is also very rewarding.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

As a teen mom then in my 20’s & 30’s you learn to give and allow yourself to receive Grace. Show them love, support them, listening and have their basic needs met(food, shelter, clothing) your child has all they need from you. Learning each child’s love language is very important because we all have different ways to receive and give love. What works for one may not work or be receptive in the same as it did for another child. Instilling family values.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’d invest in my children’s future. Divide it equally and make sure they use it for college, down payment for a house, something that has value and would benefit them. As a mother knowing that your kids have something set up financially and for their future would bring me peace. Even though we have debt that’s my burden to carry not theirs. Most would say a vacation but we make a vacation out of simple outings. Shopping is nice but those are just things. I’d donate $1,000 to another mom in need.
