Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I started my “mom career” as a bonus mom. Gavin and Addison welcomed me with open arms from the beginning. I learned that simply just showing up for them was the most important thing so that is what I try my best to do. I’m so grateful they’ve always accepted me and truly loved me as a bonus mom. Then came Lainey, the most animated and happy baby. I love seeing what lights her up with joy daily. Her happiness ends up being my happiness even on hard days.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Schedules don’t exist. Plans don’t always work. Naps don’t always happen. There’s no real formula of how to be a mother. You just make it work for you and your family. Yes, you can take advice from others but doing your absolute best is all you can do and it’s ok if it doesn’t always go smoothly.

What would you do with $20,000?

We have been saving for a house for at least 2 years. Having spinal surgery and a baby within the same nine months has been hard financially since I run my own makeup business and don’t qualify for disability or maternity leave. My husband works so hard and this would be a large leap in the right direction toward a new home for our growing family.
