Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I would have to split it into two parts. First, I feel extremely honored when my kids come to me when scared, hurt, or overwhelmed. It is such a privilege to be a safe person for them and someone they enjoying being themselves around. Secondly, I love seeing how they grow and display kindness. They both look out for kids who need some encouragement and friendship. They both have independent personalities and it’s so cool to watch them take on more responsibilities as they grow (very bittersweet)

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

No mess or problem is too big. So many things in life are overwhelming and seem complicated, but we can get through them step by step. Motherhood also puts into perspective what truly matters. The stain on the shirt or rug may fade over time or will need to be replaced, and that’s okay. The relationship that I have with my kids and my family is what is most important.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would put some to establish college funds, build up the kids savings, and the rest to family trips. My kids love adventures and we have wonderful quality time and memories from our trips. No matter if it’s a weekend at the grandparents or a bigger trip to the beach, we enjoy the dedicated family time vacation brings.
