The biggest lesson motherhood taught me is that you can’t control everything and that’s okay. It pushes you to let go of perfection and learn patience, flexibility, and unconditional love. You learn that your children don’t need you to be perfect, they just need you to be present, consistent, and loving. It also shows you a strength you didn’t know you had the ability to keep going, no matter how tired or overwhelmed you feel.

First, I’d make sure bills are caught up and set aside a small emergency fund so there’s breathing room if anything unexpected happens. Peace of mind is huge. Then I’d pay down any high-interest debt (like credit cards), because that saves money long-term. After that, I’d split what’s left, maybe invest some (even something simple like an index fund), and use a portion for something meaningful: improving my home, supporting my kids, or even a small experience or trip to make memories.
