What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

For me as a young mother it wasn’t easy under the many hats, especially as an Army Soldier. Being strong in the Lord lifted me when I felt weak and helped me to love and wake up each day to keep going for the ones you love the most. I thank God for allowing me to be a mother, as I watched them grow safely into respectable adults now with their own families. It’s even more of a blessing to be called grandma . What a rewarding journey through motherhood I have traveled. To God be the glory!

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood taught me that life is no longer about me and there is no how to book it’s all trial and error. The most important thing I can give my children was love, respect, and a home where they can feel safe being themselves and a strong love for God through prayer. As children and still to this day as adults they know they were valued, heard, and loved unconditionally as does my grandchildren. As a mother caring for me was essential and accepting imperfections because mistakes help us grow.

What would you do with $20,000?

As a young military mother life wasn’t easy dealing with domestic violence and 3 young children. Shifting my focus from superficial concerns to family and personal wellbeing helped me prioritize what mattered. I never had an opportunity to take my children on a real family vacation hopefully with their own families with 20,000 my 3 adult children with their partners, 8 grandkids and me can take a real trip to Disney. We never been anywhere as a family when they were young kids.
