Being Maya (7) and Kieran’s (4) mom… it’s the quiet stuff. The way they still reach for me without thinking. Hearing my kindness come out in their little voices. Watching them grow and knowing I don’t have to be perfect, just steady, just there. I used to feel like I needed an audience but now I’m happiest on the sidelines, watching them shine. And when they laugh at my jokes? That’s everything.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me to let go of perfection or at least loosen my grip on it. I used to think I had to get everything right. Now I know being present matters more than being perfect. My kids don’t need flawless, they just need me, showing up, trying to be kind, and owning it when I get it wrong. Turns out the messier, real moments are the ones that actually stick.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’d do something responsible first so I could actually relax, like pay down what needs paying or stash some away. Then I’d plan a memory trip with my family. Nothing crazy, just somewhere we can be together and laugh a lot. Maybe treat myself to something small I’d normally talk myself out of. Security first but making memories a close second.
