Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is having a little human be able to survive off of just myself (I breastfed). It’s incredible how our bodies not only can grow such an amazing human being, but for being able to be their every need. No matter how difficult it was, looking back, it has been so incredibly worth every late night, early morning, or even confusion of the two due to lack of sleep. Now seeing him thrive in elementary school has been such a wonderful journey every step.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Patience, although I feel this is common, it’s been learning to let some things go that just don’t matter & to laugh with them often as they help navigate this big world. I remind myself he doesn’t quite know things that I’ve learned throughout life and you truly have to see where their thoughts are for why they’re behaving the way they truly are, both good and bad. Instead of yelling, try to understand why they’re behaving having big emotions over certain small tasks.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would personally pay down some debt and put money towards a fund for our son’s future. It’s been such an amazing journey, as hard as it’s been at times, but so worth the sleepless nights even to this day. Being a mother, I always have heard, was “the hardest yet most rewarding job title you will ever have” and I feel it’s such an understatement as it truly is and has been the biggest blessing in our life!
