Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part to me is witnessing life through their eyes. It’s cliché to say, but my kids give me a new outlook on life. Not only does my parenting shape how they see the world but the way they see it shapes me in return - I am learning and growing right alongside them. Being in charge of raising three thoughtful, kind, and successful individuals is an honor and privilege that I will never take for granted.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Roll with the punches. Between almost losing our daughter at birth and the life changing diagnoses, surgeries, therapies that she endures everyday, I have many tough days and could easily choose to dwell on so many parts of our life that we did not envision. Instead, I choose to celebrate every milestone and cherish every moment together because I want nothing more than my kids to remember me as someone who was always resilient, present, and full of love. 

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use the money toward a pool at our home as traveling with three kids (in general, let alone with a medically complex kid) is very difficult and our goal is to make our home our vacation spot! Our oldest has always loved swimming as it is the one place her body does not fight her and its a place we can all spend time together while creating memories for a lifetime.
