Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching my son foster immense resilience helped me gain a profound perspective on life's gifts. Every milestone, every journey is precious, joyful and utterly amazing. I stare at my child each day, knowing that even if I didn't show up elsewhere he can always count on me showing up for him. No matter what state I'm in, I'm enough for him and he shows that by accomplishing more each day.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Feelings, no matter how complicated can coexist and that is the beauty of motherhood. Our son's journey into this world, and his first two years of life have brought me the most amount of joy with the heaviest grief and pain through all his medical complications. The days that I thought I could not get through, I did, because a mother's love knows no bounds even in the depths of darkness.

What would you do with $20,000?

My son has a CHD and is diabetic, with the hospital stays, surgeries and ongoing medical appointments that will be life long, the money would help get us closer to be able to live a more comfortably. I would pay down medical bills and save the rest for a rainy day fund, medical supplies, medications, and future needed surgeries. We've had 2 unexpected surgeries pop up in the last year, with a smaller surgery in the near future. This would ease some of that tension for our family.
