Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Getting to see all the little moments is definitely the best part. When the four year old says a word correctly that they’ve mispronounced forever and you know your little kid time with them is running out. When the seventeen year old comes home after making a catch in color guard that she’s been working hard on. Getting to be the first person they want to comfort them when they don’t feel good, and hearing from someone else that they are good people with manners even when you aren’t around.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood will never be about a spotless house, where you’re always listened to the first time, and everyone gets along but that’s why all the little moments matter so much. They add up to make it amazing. Motherhood is about the long game, you’re going to have days where it’s all overwhelming and nothing seems right but when you get to hug them good night or hear their stories about their day and realize that you’re one small mess up isn’t the focus, you learn to let go of the small stuff.

What would you do with $20,000?

My family would use $20,000 to take our first ever oversees vacation. I’d love to show my kids a different culture and experience something new with them. I’m not sure where exactly but getting to do the research on a new place with them and seeing what they would be most interested in would be part of the fun! Letting them have a say in the experience. Thank you for the opportunity.
