Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being a mom is a blessing from the Lord. I believe the best part of being a mom is watching the joy in their eyes as they take in the world, learn new things, and accomplish things they are proud of. The most rewarding aspect is watching them mature and grow, seeing them make decisions, and being proud of who they are becoming. The responsibility of raising up a future generation who will go out to make an impact on this world for the better is so important to me.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me to be selfless. Prior to having kids I thought mostly about myself and my needs, now I have learned to put their needs ahead of my own and truly prioritize the things that matter most. It has also taught me humility and the importance of apologizing when I get it wrong. I think it is vital to model humility to my children and talk about how to learn from our mistakes.

What would you do with $20,000?

I will be donating a portion to our non-profit foundation for NICU families. After that I would like to complete some projects around the house, definitely spruce up our backyard because we host a lot of families and we spend so much time there making memories with our kids! I would also plan a really nice date night with my husband who works hard to take care of all of us and do some responsible things like pay off a vehicle!
