The most rewarding part of being a mom to my boys is being loved by them. There is no better feeling than knowing they are happy and feel truly loved every day. Forehead-to-forehead presses (AKA third eye kisses to ASD families), big squeezes, bedtime cuddles, hearing “I love you, Mommy”, huge hugs, tickles and sweet smiles from them make my life complete. Being a mom has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I’m so glad and forever grateful that I get to be their mom.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Let go and be grateful. I am a control freak. I did not plan on going through IVF (during a pandemic), having preemie TWIN BOYS (was convinced I would have girls), pumping for 6 months only to find out they were allergic to my milk, ASD diagnoses (missing milestones, speech delay, picky eating, sleepless nights, therapies), feeling isolated, and being on high alert 24/7. But I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. We are so blessed to have them. They have changed me for the better!
What would you do with $20,000?I left my job as a pharmacist specialist back in 2019 so that I could become a mom. I had to reduce stress to give IVF a chance (2nd round stuck). I currently have a contingent position to help pay the bills - full-time isn’t an option with the kids’ therapies and school schedule. With 20K, we would take the boys to Disney World. They LOVE Disney movies and would be so enamored with it all. They truly deserve it and we would cherish that magical memory forever.
