The most rewarding part of being a mom is the connection I share with my daughter. Because she is disabled and medically complex, our relationship looks different than I ever expected. Even without words, I know she recognizes me, feels my love, and knows I am her safe place. There is something indescribable about being known on that level; about finding joy, connection, and meaning in the little moments we create together.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me that love goes far beyond words. With a medically complex child, I’ve learned that connection isn’t always spoken; it’s felt in presence, in advocacy, and in showing up every single day. It’s taught me resilience I didn’t know I had and the ability to find joy in moments others might overlook.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I won $20,000, I would use it to support both my daughter’s ongoing medical needs and help advance research for children like her. A portion would go toward therapies, equipment, and care that improve her quality of life, while the rest would support organizations working toward treatments and a future with more answers. It would create both immediate impact and long-term hope.
