Betsy Bevers

My children (and grands) are central in my life. I don't feel like my Mom job ends at 18.. It doesn't end until my heart stops beating.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Knowing that despite my mistakes and humanly shortcomings, these beautiful babies, turned pouty difficult teens, have morphed into wonderful, compassionate, interesting people. When with them people look at me like I'm royalty and ask what the secret is to raising a great child. They add to the community and call me daily, except the youngest, but they have 2 little angels to look after so he's a 1-2 times a week caller. Lastly,as son Charlie says, they have my 6,meaning they "have my back", always.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

That I need to be open to the lessons my children can teach me. I may have taught them to tie their shoes or ride a bike, but they've taught me how to love with my whole soul, and that the more love you give, the more love you have-It multiplies.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would pay for Matt to bring Axton down to visit. Charlie is on some expensive medication so I'd pay up a few months for him. Austin needs a new lawnmower, nothing too fancy. I would give Tiffany a full out spa weekend..she works so much. With what's left I would put 1/3 away in the "just in case" account, get my teeth worked on, and get a few outfits (recent weight loss >75 lbs), so I have more than scrubs that fit appropriately.
