What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part for me watching them be so strong during so much adversity but keeping their gentle hearts and still finding joy in every day life and the small things. My 4 kiddos are my reason for fighting and pushing to beat my diagnosis and continue my efforts in bettering who I am, for them.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is it is truly always the smallest things that mean the most, especially now. Like when my twins want to just sit next to me or hold my hand on the couch, when my 7 year old daughter wants me to print out a picture for her to color, or my 14 year old son and I have inside jokes. I love it all and it means more to me and makes me slow down and enjoy the small.

What would you do with $20,000?

I truly cannot even fathom having $20,000. But if I did have it, I would take my family on a trip to Portugal. My husbands family is from Portugal, his mom passed from breast cancer right when we got married, his father passed two years after from pancreatic cancer. We never got to take our kids to see where his family is from and it would mean the world to me to be able to show them that and experience their culture. I’m half way done with my treatment and would love that time with my family.
