Getting to see the world through my son’s eyes. He is so incredibly joyful in the way he approaches new experiences, and I get to relive a lot of “firsts” through him. It’s like getting to be a kid again!
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?To slow down! The journey is way more important than the destination. My kid won’t remember if we made it to an appointment on time, or if everyone looked perfect for an event. What he WILL remember is if I was kind, if I was patient, and if I let him stop to pick dandelions, or set aside my laptop for a kitchen dance party.
What would you do with $20,000?I’d love to create a dream bedroom for my son! He’s autistic, so I want to be able to give him a safe, sensory-friendly space. I would also start a music program for neurodiverse kids. I teach voice already, but having start up funds to host a weekly music class (free of charge) for elementary age kids with autism, adhd, or other cognitive or physical disabilities would be a dream! If there’s any left after that…family vacation!
