Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

To look back and see how I never gave up on my kids or myself as a Mom, despite not always receiving back their appreciation & respect. When despite all the trials, medical & academic issues, the moments they have come to me for comfort & safety, because I am the one they want in those times of hurt, pain, & fear. Making it through the lessons they have learned, seeing them grow into who they are suppose to be, knowing I was the hands that held them, taught them, & launched them into life.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Grace! Giving myself grace for things not turning out the way I expected, for mom guilt, times I didn't enjoy being a mom & giving grace to my kids. We don't own our kids, so being flexible, allowing them to grow into who they are suppose to be. It's been a journey of patience, frustration, & hard things. They grow so fast, cherish each moment, you'll never have it again. We are often the ones behind the camera lens, I wish someone was filming for me so I could've enjoyed moments more!

What would you do with $20,000?

I would like to be able to invest that in a program for single mothers who are trying to be there for their children but financially just can't. There's a lot of single moms who become homeless and lose their children to the state who were still good loving mothers, but didn't have the resources to keep their children. Also to provide respite for single mothers of special needs children who go above and beyond to care for their children but don't get a self care break for themselves.
