What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is seeing your children grow. Starting with the first milestones, toddling around, and then seeing the lessons you didn’t even know you taught them, but that they see as example of you and then see it play out as they grow. I have a 13 and 14 year old. And now that we are entering those teen years, those types of lessons are showing more, and I couldn’t be more proud.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is that you can make all the plans and have all the answers, and it not mean anything! Motherhood is rolling with the ups and downs. It is being there regardless of what you thought it was going to be like. As mothers there is so much out there telling you how to be a “good mother” and if it is taught me anything it is that no child is the same and every child needs a certain kind of mother at different times in their life. It keeps changing!

What would you do with $20,000?

If I was selected and won this money it would go back to making our family life more enjoyable on our farm. Both of our kids show beef cattle and it’s something we do as a family and really love. They have wanted to get a better trailer for their show animals so it would probably go towards that.
