Amy Barlok Boyle

To me, being a “Super Mom” isn’t about doing everything perfectly, it’s about showing up, being real and giving my best every single day.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom isn’t one significant moment, it’s a collection of small meaningful moments that add up over time. It’s the love and the commitment to your children to do whatever possible to make them have a good life and to be good people. It’s the privilege of shaping a life, not perfectly, but intentionally and knowing that, in some way, a piece of your heart is out in the world becoming their own person.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Humility. Motherhood has humbled me. The times when I didn’t have answers, in the hard moments. When love had to be stronger than frustration. When I needed to slow down and listen more. When I needed to provide a calm space within the storm of emotions. In this, I’ve found a deeper kind of strength from learning, trying my hardest and loving without limits. Life is a lesson, we are constantly learning as we go.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use it with intention. It’s not about the money, it’s about what it represents: a chance for me to help ease our financial burdens and allow me the opportunity to say “yes” to a few of the fun extras along the way without the stress of how we would accomplish the asks. I would also take some time off of work and plan a trip to go and visit my own Super Mom.
