When my children have struggled with something for a long time (whether it be a school subject, an a piano piece, a dance routine, emotional regulation, or being kind to one another, etc), and then one day after many talks and reinforcing, they all of a sudden have figured out the problem on their own and grow from it. Watching those moments of struggle turning into something they master and being able to be a part of that makes me so proud to be their mom.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Patience in knowing that kids need to make their own mistakes; I need to sit back and let them fail from time to time in order to teach them resiliency. That is so difficult as I want to protect them! I know in the long run they need these times of hardship and heartache for growth and that I cannot rescue them all of the time. I have to be patient and wait it out and continually let them know I'm always there for them and that I love them no matter what; and to guide and give advice as needed.
What would you do with $20,000?After my husband went through chemotherapy and radiation his health deteriorated pretty badly. He desperately needs dental implants as his teeth were unfortunately severely damaged from the chemotherapy and radiation.
