The most rewarding part is seeing the values I pour into my kids actually show up in real life. I’ve watched my daughter notice the kid no one else is playing with and walk right up like they’ve always been friends, without hesitation. During these those moments, I see that all the exhausting, messy, and overwhelming days are actually shaping who they become and it’s so incredibly rewarding!
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?I had to learn how to regulate myself before I could teach them how to regulate themselves, you can’t pour into your kids from an empty cup... The way I handle stress, frustration, and emotions quickly becomes their blueprint. Motherhood forced me to grow up in ways nothing else could and made me realize being a good mom starts with doing the work on myself. Also, that this is it… this is the good old days, the days I will always wish I could turn back the clock to.
What would you do with $20,000?I’m fully committed to the long game of becoming an RN because I know how much it will change our lives. But right now, school has taken a lot of moments from me as a mom. This $20,000 would give me breathing room to be present in this season, to be a mom and a student before having to be an employee. It would let me focus on building our future without missing so much of their now.
