Watching them learn and explore new things. It’s such an honor to witness it. My youngest is deaf and bilaterally implanted and when he learns a new phrase or discovers a new noise, it’s such a joy to watch the realization on his face. My oldest just discovered a new love for soccer and it’s been incredible watching him hone into this new skill and grow his confidence.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Patience. Absolutely patience. You don’t realize how fast you’re living life until you have a child and have to teach them to do things on your own. You have this urge to do everything for them because it’s easier and quicker when done yourself. But you’re doing your child a disservice and you have to learn to be patient and let them make mistakes.
What would you do with $20,000?I would pay for college, and take my kids on a vacation. So often are we rushing through life that I forget to really soak it in. I want to better mine and my children’s lives but I also want to give them experiences I never got and the attention and excitement they deserve.
