What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being able to see smiles on my kids’ faces when they look at me. It feels like my life didn’t start until I had my kids. They have given me a purpose: to make myself a better person and to make my community a better place.

What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?

The day they were born. I remember each of their births. My 1st, was a long day filled with anticipation. My 2nd came 45 minutes after we arrived. My 3rd was mostly head and I had a hard time pushing him out! My 4th came easily and my 5th had a complication that caused an emergency c-section. 2 of the kids in my life are my partner’s children. They have been a part of my life for the last 7 years and they have definitely brought more excitement into my life than I ever imagined.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’d use it towards my farm business & create a healthy home for my family. I bake bread, grow veggies, & raise poultry. I hope to help my community have access to local goods & produce, encourage my kids to pursue their dreams, & create a culture of kindness & positivity. I’m attending local farmers markets this year. It’d go towards building garden beds, buying plants & seeds, greenhouses, equipment, tools, dirt, & other overhead expenses. Fix the A/C system & repair the bathrooms in the house.
