I’ve made it through the hardest days of my life and stayed strong for my son Ridley, after his brother Evander passed away. I kept going.
We would like to thank you for supporting Tori Jacques in this year's Super Mom competition. Your participation allows us to aid Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in their commitment to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my youngest son grow into a respectful, kind, compassionate boy who I will be so proud of. I never have to worry of him letting me down. He remembers his brother, and thinks of him in all that we do together. Having a child love you unconditionally through your hardest days and hearing the “I love you, mom” when you need it most and they don’t even know it, is what gets me by. There’s no better reward.
What is one memory of your kids that you will never forget?I will never forget the one and only time my son met his brother who was a premature infant infant in the NICU who passed away and my oldest sounded out words of a DR. Seuss book, and read it to him. I have a video of us getting to the hospital, and the time that we spent together. When he ended it with “I love you, Evander” it was the best thing I’ve ever heard.
What would you do with $20,000?I would donate to “David’s House” a home that welcomed me that is for parents who have children that are in the hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock where my sons NICU was and make care packages for those that are there, put aside money for when I see other parents who also face traumatic events to give back to those who helped me. I would make a savings for my son Ridley, and I would like to pay off the money I owe for all the things that I lost after my loss, and save the rest.
